UCSF students, together with CARE ambassadors, have created an elective that addresses racism, colonization, patriarchy and all forms of oppression as root causes of structural and interpersonal violence and how healthcare providers can advance healing-centered, trauma-informed transformation.
This elective focuses on the interconnectedness of multiple forms of violence, the impact of trauma on the health of patients and communities, and how we can promote healing and resilience in clinical care. Featured speakers below. (Topics are subject to change based on speaker's availability.)

You are welcome to come to individual sessions. To receive 1.0 unit of credit (P/F), please register for the course titled "Epidemiology 180.08: Violence Prevention and Trauma-Informed" on Student Portal by 9/24/2021 and attend the entire series*.
*There are 10 sessions. You may still receive credit by attending 8 sessions if you watch the recordings of the missed sessions and submit a brief written reflection for any session missed.
