Our Mission

We honor the inherent dignity and worth of all people and believe that everyone has a right to healing, wholeness, happiness, fulfillment, and a life free of violence and abuse. To achieve that, we collaborate with our UC and community partners to create an environment free of sexual violence, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual misconduct as well as free of racial harassment and discrimination. Our mission is to prevent violence and eliminate oppression.

Our Beliefs and Values

Social Justice is foundational to our work. Violence is rooted in oppression and oppression is intersectional. Anti-violence work must be intersectional and focused on dismantling systematic oppression.

We center survivors. Survivors’ expertise, experiences, and perspectives are critical to healing and transforming our culture. We support their agency, defer to their expertise, and amplify their voices.

Self-care and preservation are essential, not optional.

Violence prevention and response must be an inclusive, collaborative, effort. We recognize the lived, academic, and professional experience throughout our community and work collaboratively.

Violence is not inevitable. Violence is 100% preventable and, as a community, we are capable of and committed to, preventing it.
