In 2018, the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) released their report on the sexual harassment of women in academic science and medicine. It detailed that at least 50 percent of women experience unwanted sexual harassment in academia.
On March 15, 2019 UCSF's Gender Equity Trainee Task Force led a Town Hall to discuss how to implement the report's recommendations on changing the climate, culture, and consequences of sexual harassment in Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
